Since the end of 2023, motorsport has been experiencing conflict between its two most powerful institutions, the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA) and the Asociación Corredores Turismo Carretera (ACTC). The confrontation between the parties generated the reorganization of the national motor sport and in this new order, the death of Alfredo Picardi, which occurred last weekend in La Plata during a competition in the category Amigos 1.4 , generated a shock that cut short the tense calm. . that they lived in iron environment.

The tragic event of Picardi was the result of a series of actions that caused the calm that existed in recent times to weaken even more. In the Carburando Radio program, Eduardo Baca, Vice President of ACA CDA, established the position of the institution led by Eugenio Breard.

“The position of the CDA has always been to maintain the responsibilities from the point of view of the delegation of the sporting power of the FIA and compliance with the international sporting code of the local regulations. This is not a change of strategies, it is applying a strategy that is common and what it should be. As a supervisory body, we are not looking for success-oriented effects but rather we are marking the regulatory field in which we must move. The statement clearly articulates that territory and covers various aspects such as licenses and road courses,” he explained.

In addition, the manager was at the time highlighting that the mother house of national motorsports was looking for a path of communication with the Teceista institution, but that could not be achieved. “We even had a line of dialogue with the mediators at one point to try to find a solution, but it was not possible and unfortunately we reached this moment. Now there is no dialogue with the ACTC”he declared.

And he added: “I hope it can be resolved through diplomatic means. When you are the national sports authority and you have the power granted to organize, apply regulations, approve pilot passes, open doors are always for conversation. But we are not the ones who have to knock on the door, but those who are in a secret situation.”

In closing, Baca had no hesitation in pointing out that they will try to resolve the conflict by any means necessary, be it peaceful means or through judicial means. “We will continue our course by all means necessary, including judicial”he concluded.
