The Rage Against the Machine singer has paid the equivalent of 2.9 billion Chilean pesos for his new estate in California, where he is likely spending his days as he overcomes the injury that forced the cancellation of the dates of the the band’s comeback tour.
Known for his furious voice and sharp lyrics in front Rage against the machine , singer Zack de la Rocha also has his own place to rest. Now that the band have canceled their dates for 2023, due to the serious injury suffered by the musician on stage, it is likely that they will have more time to enjoy their special abode.
De la Rocha recently purchased a gorgeous home in Silver Lake, California . The musician knows the area well, since he lived in a bungalow (which even had its own recording studio) until 2021. Thus, it is clear that he decided to stay and make an offer to buy the residence for the modest sum of 3.7 million US dollars (about 2,900 million Chilean pesos). According to the specialized portal Dirt, De la Rocha won a tough bidding battle by submitting an offer that exceeded the amount requested by its owners by $700,000.
It is a residence that was originally built in 1953 by architects Gregory Ain and James H. Garrott. Its last owners were the couple of artist Jed Lind and stylist Jessica de Ruiter, who carried out an extensive remodeling and restoration of the house.
According to Dirt, the house has two levels and is equivalent in size to 185 square meters. “(It has) a larger ground floor offering lounges, common rooms, including a Miele kitchen with Carrara marble countertops open to a dining room with balcony and panoramic view. There is a living room with original Douglas fir hardwood floors and fireplace, a wood paneled office with a pull-out sofa bed overlooking the pool, and a family room with treetop views.
That’s not all. the second level “composed of a comfortable master suite and a secondary bedroom, plus a bonus room ideal for use as an intimate home theater. The property also offers a grassy lawn shaded by olive trees, as well as a separate small structure ideal for use as a recording studio or home office. As for the aforementioned pool, it’s surrounded by high, ivy-covered walls to provide celebrity-style privacy,” says Dirt.
It’s not Zack de la Rocha’s only property. In addition to the residence in Silver Lake, he also owns a country house in Malibu.
