Paula Ormaechea was eliminated in the first round of the WTA in Charleston

Paula Ormaechea was eliminated this Monday in the initial round at Charleston WTA 500, in the United States, after falling in the debut against the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko by 6-1 and 6-1.

Ormaechea, born in the city of Sunchales of Santa Fe and 183rd in the WTA ranking, came from the classification. However, in his main draw debut, he lost to Tsurenko (77), just after an hour and two minutes of play.

The WTA 500 Charleston Open, in the State of South Carolina, takes place over the courts of brick dust and will give 158 thousand dollars for its winner. The top favorite for the title is the American Jessica Pegula (3), who will debut directly in the second round.

Men, two in the race and one eliminated in Estoril

Sebastián Báez and Pedro Cachín advanced to the round at the ATP 250 in Estoril, in Portugal: they will be rivals in the round of 16, thus ensuring Argentina’s presence in the top eight of the tournament.
