Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev should learn from the loss against the Australian Miner Alexa at a tournament in Toronto, said Andrey Olkhovsky, a former winner of two Grand Slams in mixed doubles.
On Sunday, Russian Daniil Medvedev reached the fourth round of the US Open beating Argentina’s Sebastian Baes 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6). Medvedev’s next opponent will be De Minor, whom he lost in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Toronto 6:7 (7:9), 5:7.
– I believe that the next match between Medvedev and De Minor will be different from the previous one. Daniil played last time in a different style, too active for him. He and the team should learn from this recent loss in Toronto.
De Minor is a very formidable opponent, but in a five-set format the game should be different. Daniil needs to pick up his pace this time, – Olkhovsky told RB Sport.
The match between Medvedev and De Minor will take place on Monday, September 4.
