Eighth seed Alexandrova defeated Magdalena French of Poland with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 7:6 (10:8) in the second round. The meeting lasted more than two hours.
The Russian’s next opponent will be determined based on the results of the confrontation between Americans Caroline Dolehide and Sachia Vickery.
