Ukrainians stopped at the second stage
Ukrainian tennis players Dayana Yastremskaya, Angelina Kalinina And Marta Kostyuk stopped playing at the tournament WTA 1000 V Guadalajara (Mexico).
Representatives of our country were eliminated simultaneously in the second round. Note that none of the Ukrainians was able to take at least a set in the reporting round of the competition, losing with the same score 0:2.
Kalinina lost to Sofia Kenin from the USA in one hour and 35 minutes (2:6, 6:7 (5)). Angelina has four aces and four double faults, as well as four missed set points.
Yastremskaya lost to the 10th seeded tournament – Victoria Azarenka. In the first set, the Ukrainian gave up one game (4:6), in the second Azarenka was stronger in the tiebreaker (7:5), while Dayana missed two set points.
Marta Kostyuk was unable to impose a fight on Elena Ostapenko, seeded sixth (2:6, 3:6). Marta had five double faults and only one game won on Ostapenko’s serve.
Thus, the tournament in Mexico was left without representatives of Ukraine in singles.
