The Ukrainian lost to second seeded Ana Bogdan in three sets
Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatskaya eliminated in the second round of the tournament WTA 125 in Italian Parma.
In a dramatic match, the Ukrainian lost to Romanian Ana Bogdan (71st racket in the world ranking), seeded number two. The meeting lasted two and a half hours.
In the first set, Katarina made an impressive comeback. In the process she trailed 1:4, giving away her serve twice. But then she won five games in a row and ended the game in her favor. In the second set, however, Bogdan took revenge – 6:2.
In the decisive game, Zavatskaya fought on equal terms for a long time. The eighth game was impressive when the Ukrainian broke her opponent’s serve on the fourth attempt. However, the Romanian was immediately able to repay her opponent with a similar coin. And in the end they celebrated the victory – 6:4.
For our athlete, this was the eighth match against a top-100 opponent this season, in which she suffered her seventh defeat. Let us remember that in the last round, Katarina interrupted her losing streak by defeating Australian Astra Sharma in three sets.
