Makarova won the first game. In the second, Beindl took all the games on her opponent’s serve. In the decisive set, which lasted almost an hour, the Ukrainian missed several break points and lost three of her own games.
Earlier, Dayana Yastremskaya lost in the first round of the tournament in Romania. Later, Daria Snigur and WTA tournament debutant 19-year-old Anastasia Soboleva will play their matches in Cluj-Napoca.
