In the opening match, Khachanov defeated his compatriot Roman Safioullin, who is ranked 43rd in the world rankings. The match ended with a score of 6:4, 6:4 in favor of Khachanov. The tennis players’ meeting lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes. Khachanov made six serves, committed a double fault and converted two break points out of seven. Safiullin had seven aces, a double fault and an unused break point.

In the next round in Vienna, Khachanov will face Czech tennis player Jiri Legecka, ranked 31st in the ATP rankings.
