Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova rose to 11th place in the race for the WTA championship, having gained 14 positions in the season rankings.
Alexandrova was beaten by Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko in the final of the tournament in Linz, Austria, on Sunday. The meeting ended with a score of 6:2, 6:3 in favor of Ostapenko, who received the first seed from the organizers.
Another Russian woman Diane Schneider who won the WTA tournament in Hua Hin (Thailand), won 148 places in the championship race and now occupies 27th place in the ranking.
The only representative of the Russian Federation in the top ten is Anna Kalinskaya, who closes the top. The leader of the season rankings is Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, who won the Australian Open in January.
