Athletistic/Tennis. The Qatar Open women’s singles draw has been announced and a week of high-level tennis awaits us in Doha, despite the absence of several top players.

Iga Swiatek won last year’s WTA 1000 tournament by beating Jessica Pegula in the final. Iga will be looking to win a third consecutive title in Doha, especially after his disastrous performance at the Australian Open.

Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula will not participate in the tournament. But tennis players like Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Zheng Qingwen are capable of challenging Swiatek.

Upper half of the grid:

Expected semi-final: Iga Swiatek vs. Barbora Krejcikova.

Analysis: Iga Swiatek is in this half of the draw and will face either Sloane Stephens or Sorana Cirstei in the first round. Iga must beat both tennis players. She will most likely reach the quarterfinals without any problems, the only person who can stop her is Ekaterina Alexandrova.

It will be interesting to see who Swiatek’s opponent will be in the quarterfinals, given that Jelena Ostapenko, Victoria Azarenka and Beatrice Addad Maia are in the mix. Azarenka beat Ostapenko at the Australian Open. There is every chance that she will reach the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open.

Even though the Belarusian has a lot of experience, Swiatek will be the favorite for their possible confrontation.

On the other side of the table are Ons Jabeur, Maria Sakkari and Barbora Krejcikova. There may be doubts about Jabeur after she left the court in tears following her defeat to Addad Maya in Abu Dhabi.

If Ons does not recover, Caroline Garcia will have a great opportunity to reach the quarter-finals. There she can play with Barbora Krejcikova or Maria Sakkari. It is common for her to have a streak of bad luck and Krejcikova has a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals in Doha.

In the confrontation between Krejcikova and Garcia, the Czech tennis player is considered the favorite.

The meeting between Swiatek and Krejcikov will be interesting, especially since the Czech won the last two matches against Iga. But it is still unlikely that Swiatek will fail two tournaments in a row.

Predictions for the semi-final: Iga Swiatek beats Barbora Krejcikova.

Lower half of the mesh:

Expected semi-final: Coco Gauff vs. Elena Rybakina

Analysis: Coco Gauff will be one of the favorites to win in Doha, and she benefits from a fairly favorable draw, with only Veronika Kudermetova standing out en route to the quarter-finals.

Here she will meet Marketa Vondrousova or Daria Kasatkina. The Wimbledon champion hasn’t been in his best form for a long time, but Kasatkina is now on the move and should reach the quarter-finals.

Gauff and Kasatkina will most likely play in the quarterfinals, with the American looking like the favorite in a potential matchup.

In the other part of the group is third seed Elena Rybakina. She is playing in the final of the tournament in Abu Dhabi today and is the favorite to win in Doha.

In the second round, Elena will face Zhu Lin or Varvara Gracheva, and she is unlikely to face much difficulty. She will likely face Australian Open finalist Zheng Qingwen or Lyudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals.

Rybakina has already beaten Samsonova in Abu Dhabi and she is also capable of facing the Chinese. The expected semi-final is Rybakina against Gauff. The final in Abu Dhabi can already play a cruel joke here, because fatigue can build up.

Predictions for the semi-final: Coco Gauff will defeat Elena Rybakina.

Qatar Open 2024: final prediction: Iga Swiatek will beat Coco Gauff.
