Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva successfully started the tournament WTA 125 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
In the first round, the Ukrainian beat Colombian representative Emiliana Arango, who was 16 positions higher in the world rankings.
The fight lasted more than two hours. The first game was marked by several long rallies and ultimately brought victory to Starodubtseva with a score of 7:5. In the second set, the Ukrainian was even more convincing – 6:1 and advancing to the next stage.
In the 1/8 finals, Yulia will meet with American Sachia Vickery, who beat the first racket of the tournament, Slovak tennis player Anna Karolina Schmidlova.
