Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova (19th racket in the world) qualified last night for the third round of the WTA-500 clay court tournament in Charleston (United States). In the 1/16 finals, she beat the American Shelby Rogers (325th in the world rankings) in two sets with a score of 7:6 (7-5), 6:4.

The tennis players spent 1 hour and 52 minutes on the court. During the match, Kudermetova completed four serves, committed six double faults and converted three out of five possible break points. Rogers had an ace, five errors on his serve and three breaks from five break points.

Veronica Kudermetova’s opponent in the 1/8 finals of the Charleston tournament will be the winner of the match between Beatrice Haddad-Maia (Brazil) and Caroline Dolehide (USA).
