Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya reached the quarter-finals of the Berlin tournament.
In the second round match, Kalinskaya met Czech Marketa Vondrousova, who received the fifth seed. Vondrousova slipped on the grass in the first set with the score 5:3 and injured her hip. The Czech took a medical timeout, but after two losing matches, the athlete refused to continue the fight.
