The Ukrainian did not keep the advantage in the third set, which she had after Monday
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina lost in the first round of the tournament WTA 500 in Bad Homburg, Germany.
Elina met with former world number one Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark. Let us remind you that the tennis players started playing on Monday, but the match was postponed to the next day due to the increased humidity of the grass.
On the first day, the athletes managed to take one set each, and in the decisive game Elina led with a break with a score of 2:1. The Ukrainian did not maintain her advantage, losing two of her serves. Svitolina returned to the game, equalizing the score, but lost in the 12th game.
Note that Wozniacki won her first victory after four defeats in a row in official tournaments. At the same time, Carolina won against Svitolina in an exhibition match in Denmark in mid-June.
Another Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska continues to perform at the tournament in Bad Homburg. The Ukrainian will play with “neutral” tennis player Diana Schneider in the second round.
