Athletistic/Tennis. Olympic champion and two-time Grand Slam winner Yevgeny Kafelnikov, in an interview with SE, explained why it is historically difficult for Russian tennis players to perform at Wimbledon.

“The only tournament I didn’t succeed in was Wimbledon. It is difficult for many of our tennis players because of the grass surface. That’s the whole peculiarity of the tournament. I don’t know how difficult it is, but it’s all very individual. I expect good results from the next tournament,” Kafelnikov said.

The 137th edition of the annual Grand Slam tennis tournament will take place on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon (London, United Kingdom) from July 1 to 14.
