Italian Paolini becomes first Wimbledon finalist

Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini reached the final of the Wimbledon tournament.

In the semifinals, Paolini, seeded seventh, defeated Croatian Donna Vekic with a score of 2:6, 6:4, 7:6 (10:8). The athletes spent 2 hours and 51 minutes on the court.

Paolini reached her second Grand Slam final of her career and season. In June, Paolini reached the final of Roland Garros, where she lost to world number one Iga Šwiatek.

The 28-year-old Italian will compete for victory at Wimbledon with the winner of the duo Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, 4 years old) – Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic, 31 years old).
