Tennis player Varvara Gracheva who played for Russia until 2023, failed to reach the second round of the Paris Olympic singles tournament.
In the first round, Gracheva was defeated by Brazilian Beatrice Haddad Maia (14th seed) with a score of 4:6, 6:4, 0:6. The athletes spent 2 hours and 14 minutes on the court.
Gracheva is 23 years old and ranks 68th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Last summer, a native of the Moscow region obtained French citizenship.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will be held from July 26 to August 11.
