Athletistic / Tennis. The 28th world racket, Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, refused to participate in the WTA-500 tournament in Monterrey (Mexico). This is due to the injury of a 33-year-old Russian woman.
“It breaks my heart that I won’t be able to play in Monterrey next week due to injury. I love Monterrey and this tournament has always been special to me. The fans of this city have always made me feel at home! I hope to see you again!” — Pavlyuchenkova wrote on her social media page.
On Saturday, August 17, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova failed to reach the semi-finals of the WTA-1000 tournament in Cincinnati, losing to Spaniard Paula Badosa.
The Monterrey tournament will take place from August 19 to 24. It should be noted that Pavlyuchenkova is a three-time champion of these competitions (2011, 2013, 2017).
