Athletistic / Tennis. The world’s second-ranked tennis player, Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenka, reacted to her victory in the final of the US Open 2024. In the decisive match of the Grand Slam tournament, she defeated the sixth number of the WTA ranking, American Jessica Pegula (7:5, 7:5).
“I have no words right now… I just can’t put two words together. I’m very happy! I remember all the tough defeats at the US Open. They say you understand the reason for those defeats later, but I see the reason now… I had to go through tough lessons to win this wonderful trophy. I think right now I’m the happiest person in the world,” Sabalenka said in a flash interview on court immediately after the final match.
The previous US Open champion was American Cori Gauff. In the final of the tournament in 2023, she defeated Aryna Sabalenka. It is worth noting that the Belarusian won her third trophy at the TBS – she had already won the Australian Open twice.
