The Ukrainian did not make it to the second round
Ukrainian tennis player Nadezhda Kichenok withdrew from the WTA 500 doubles competition in Guadalajara (Mexico).
Kichenok played in a pair with Timea Babos from Hungary: their pair was seeded number two. However, at the start of the event, the Ukrainian and Hungarian were unable to get past the tandem of Jessie Anya / Lena Papadakis (USA / Germany).
The match lasted one hour and 15 minutes. Anya and Papadakis won the first set (6:3), Kichenok and Babos fought back in the next set — 6:2. But the key draw brought victory to Jesse and Lena (10:5).
Recently, Nadezhda played at the US Open 2024. In the mixed doubles, the Ukrainian was eliminated in the second round, and in the women’s doubles, Nadezhda failed to get past the first round. But her sister, Lyudmyla, triumphed in the women’s draw of the US Open.
