Kudermetova defeated second seed Samsonova with a score of 6:4, 6:2. The meeting lasted 1 hour 40 minutes.
In the third round, Kudermetova will play with the winner of the duet Amanda Anisimova (USA) – Victoria Tomova (Bulgaria).
Earlier, Kudermetova’s younger sister Polina advanced to the third round of the Seoul tournament, beating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova.
