Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk lost to “neutral” Diane Schneider in the quarter finals of the tournament WTA 500 in South Korean Seoul.
The match lasted 1 hour and 33 minutes. During the first set, the opponents took each other’s serve twice, and the fate of the game had to be decided in a tie-break. In it, Kostyuk won 6:3, but having three set points, she lost her advantage, suffering a defeat.
The second set was not going well for Kostyuk – her serve was not going well at all, and Schneider was leading 5:1 during the game. Marta eventually lost 3:6, allowing her opponent to convert a match point on the 4th attempt.
In the semi-finals of the tournament, Schneider will face another “neutral” tennis player, Daria Kasatkina.
