The Ukrainian gave way to the Swiss Waltert in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur completed performances at the tournament ITF W100 in English Shrewsbury.
In the semi-finals of the event, Daria lost in two sets to Simone Waltert from Switzerland. The match lasted just over an hour.
The Ukrainian, despite her higher WTA ranking (119th versus 214th), was unable to compete on equal terms with her opponent, who had previously knocked out the No. 1 seed from Spain, Nuria Parrisas-Diaz.
In both sets, Snigur lost with a score of 2:6, losing two of her own serves and failing to make a single break. In the final round, the Ukrainian tennis player won back the match point three times, but on the fourth attempt Waltert took hers.
Let us remember that earlier in Shrewsbury Snigur successfully defeated two British rivals – Ella MacDonald (6:0, 6:1) and Amarni Banks (6:4, 7:5).
