Mirra Andreeva: “I feel at home in Ningbo, happy to reach the first WTA 500 final here”

Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva said she enjoyed the atmosphere of the Ningbo tournament and stressed that she was happy to reach her first WTA 500 final in that city.

On Saturday, Andreeva reached the final of the tournament in Ningbo after the Czech refused. Karolina Muchova to continue the match with the score 6:2, 1:0. In the quarterfinals, Andreeva also won after eliminating her opponent, Czech Barbora Krejcikova.

“This has never happened to me before: that my opponents withdraw from matches twice in a row. So this is something new for me, but I just want to wish Caroline a speedy recovery and hope nothing bad happened. I hope we get to see her on the field very soon.

Of course, it was hard to prepare for the semi-finals. I waited about five hours before I started warming up for the game. But we can’t control the weather, it is what it is, and I’m just happy we were able to play today.

I’m very happy to have reached my first WTA 500 final, and I’m also happy to have been able to do it in Ningbo, because I love this city very much. We walked around the hotel a lot and it is a very beautiful town. It’s very comfortable and I love playing here. Thanks again to everyone who created this atmosphere, I almost feel at home,” Andreeva said in an on-court interview.

In the final, the Russian will face her compatriot Daria Kasatkina.
