Swiss tennis player Roger Federer confirmed on his Twitter page that he will play the last game of his career on September 23 in pairs with the Spaniard Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup in London.
In September, the 20-time Grand Slam champion announced that the London tournament would be his last in the sport.
Federer, 41, asked Laver Cup organizers and team captains for permission to be limited to one game and received a positive response. Federer and Nadal will play against Jack juice and Francis Tiafoe of the United States during the evening session of the tournament.
Federer won 103 ATP titles during his career. The Swiss has won Wimbledon eight times, the Australian Open six times, the US Open five times and Roland Garros once.
The tennis player hasn’t played since Wimbledon 2021 when he lost to the Pole Hubert Hurkach in the quarter-finals.
