Ukrainian tennis player Danil Kalenichenko suspended for three years and six months due to a positive doping testwhich he passed last November at the ATP Challenger Tour in Bratislava.
Ligandrol was found in Kalenichenko’s sample, a substance that belongs to category S1 of the WADA prohibited list and is one of the types of anabolics.
Kalenichenko denied intentional use of the substance. However, the Ukrainian could not establish how it got into his body.
Kalenichenko’s disqualification took effect on November 9, 2021. Danil will be able to return to the court on May 9, 2025.
Kalenichenko, 28, has won four ITF singles titles. In 2016, Danil made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in the Davis Cup match against Japan.
