The Swiss performed at the Laver Cup
Ex-first racket of the world and one of the most titled tennis players in the world Roger Federer played his last match in his professional career.
The Swiss played in the Laver Cup in doubles. Federer’s partner in the duel was the Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Representatives of Europe lost to the Americans Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock with a score of 6:4, 6:7 (2:7), 9:11.
The Swiss announced his retirement from the sport in mid-September. The reason for Federer’s departure from tennis is health problems. The Laver Cup was the last event in Roger’s career.
In August last year, Federer underwent knee surgery, after which he did not go to the court. His last tournament remains Wimbledon 2021, where Roger reached the fourth round.
Federer is a 20-time Grand Slam champion, Beijing Olympic champion in doubles and silver medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
