The accreditation of the Biathlon Federation of the Perm Territory was suspended due to the refusal to vote for Viktor Maygurov during the presidential elections of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) at the request of the regional sports ministry, Vladislav Vlasov, vice-president of the regional federation, told .
On Tuesday, Tatarstan Biathlon Federation President Ildar Nugmanov said the federations of Transbaikalia, Perm Territory, Kaluga region, Republic of Buryatia and Novosibirsk region were forced to vote for Maygurov in the elections for the head of the RBU. Representatives of the Trans-Baikal and Kaluga federations have confirmed to that they are under pressure through the regional sports ministries ahead of the re-election of the head of the RBU, which will be held on October 14.
– The Minister of Sports of our region (Tatyana Chesnokova) told the president of our federation that we do not live in the same thought with the Ministry of Sports. She said she would revoke our federation’s accreditation and handle everything herself. The regional Ministry of Sports insisted that a person who would definitely vote for Maigurov go as a delegate to the RRF elections of the Perm Territory. And we chose another delegate, hence the consequences for our federation.
As a result, we said to the Minister of Sports: okay, revoke the accreditation, then we will liquidate the Biathlon Federation of the Perm Territory. It was decided to stop the activities of our federation in order not to interfere with the Ministry of Sports. All this happened before the next elections for the leader of the RRF. We directly told the Minister of Sports that she was interfering in the activities of a public body, telling us who should be a delegate on our part, telling us who we should vote for. By order of the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Perm Territory Tatyana Chesnokova of October 7, the state accreditation of the regional public organization “Biathlon Federation of the Perm Territory” in the sport of “biathlon” has been suspended for a maximum period of six months from the date of signature of the order.
