Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Transbaikal Territory Andrey Seredkin told that the revocation of the accreditation of the regional biathlon federation is in no way connected with the upcoming presidential elections of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and is due solely to the report on the work of the organization which was not submitted on time.
On Wednesday, learned that the Biathlon Federation of the Transbaikal Territory was deprived of public funding and its state accreditation was suspended until December 31, 2022. The document was signed by Seredkin. The reason for these measures is the failure of the federation to submit an annual report on the activities of the organization to the regional sports ministry in the prescribed manner.
The head of the local biathlon federation, Gennady Kovalev, claims that the recall is due to his refusal to vote in the upcoming presidential elections for the RBU. Viktor Maygurov . It is not necessary to designate the biathlon federation as a separate case, linking it to pressures and orders to vote for Maigurov or not for Maigurov. It was not done in May, and now we see the result. And the CSP submits reports on competitions and trips. But this is an ordinary financial report, which is usually provided after each competition. The biathlon federation simply does not understand this, although my specialists have explained it to them more than once.
– So you’re saying that the withdrawal of accreditation has nothing to do with the upcoming elections, and the timing just coincided?
