World and European champion, winner of the World Cup stages, Russian biathlete Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht believes that, in the words of the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach there is no logic.
After the withdrawal of Russian athletes from international competitions, Bach repeatedly said that sport should be out of politics, while maintaining the ban in place for Russians.

In February, the IOC Executive Board recommended that international federations prevent Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions due to events in Ukraine. Many federations have followed these recommendations.
