Double Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev on the air of the program “Fort!” on the channel, he took stock of the last presidential elections of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and regretted that the vote was not secret.
Last Thursday, a conference on reports and elections of the RBU was held in Moscow. For the post of head of the organization, ex-president Viktor Maigurov and vice-president of the RBU Alexei Nuzhdov claimed. According to the results of the vote, none of the candidates won 2/3 of the votes, Maigurov was supported by 35 delegates, Nuzhdov – by 18.
– I have a dual status since the election of the leader of the RRF. It’s great that we have a democracy, but we would like full democracy in that sense – a direct secret ballot, so that people can express their opinion and not be afraid of further repression. It wasn’t enough. It is important that there is a secret ballot at the next conference,” Vasiliev said.
