The women’s sprint race in Hochfilzen will take place on December 8
Senior coach Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Nikolay Zots shared his expectations from the sprint race at the second stage World Cup 2023/24 in Austrian Hochfilzen.
“Will I be happy with four girls in Pursuit? The task for everyone before going to the start, as I already said, is maximum. Otherwise, why go to the start? But we understand our maximum today. The goal of getting four biathletes into the pursuit race is worthwhile, because then the Nations Cup follows from here.”
“Of course, I want someone to not only get into the top 60 in personal races, but also jump higher. The main thing is that the result shows them that they can perform at this level. Two biathletes made it into the scoring zone in Östersund. We will try our best here too.”
At the stage in Hochfilzen, Anastasia Merkushina (No. 4) will start first among Ukrainians. Yulia Jima (No. 10), Anna Krivonos (No. 37), Irina Petrenko (No. 68) and Elena Gorodnaya (No. 92) will also perform.
The men’s and women’s sprint races in Hochfilzen will take place on December 8th. The women’s sprint will begin at 15:25 Kyiv time.
