Shipulin about the “Match TV Race of Stars” biathlon: “I trained for the first time this season, I covered only 6 km. I don’t think I’ll have much of an advantage.”

Olympic biathlon champion and today deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Physical Culture and Sports Anton Shipulin on , he said that he had not specially prepared for the Race of Stars and had only recently held the first training session of the season.

The “ Race of Stars” biathlon will take place on Sunday at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. More than 10 teams will compete, each consisting of two people: a biathlon star and a famous amateur.

– This year there will be the third ” Race of Stars”, I wanted to see all the old friends and biathletes. It’s more of a show, not a competition. We shoot with air rifles, we run with amateurs, this competition is aimed more at spectators. Last year, many came to applaud and watch, and the show also attracted good views. We will go through it in the form of a show, talking to the public and colleagues. I recently only ran 6km, it was my first workout this season. I don’t think I will have a big advantage, I haven’t prepared specifically for the race either this year or last year. I will race honestly with my colleagues who have not trained for several years.

I think Svetlana Sleptsova trains in Khanty. I know she’s running. I can not say more. If they asked about skiers, I would say Alexander Legkov. Many biathletes have not started skiing for several years, however, when this kind of event takes place, we remember what biathlon is, what it means to ski and shoot. Don’t judge us harshly this year, we will try to make it as much of a sporting holiday as possible,” Shipulin said on .

Watch the live broadcast of the biathlon race on Sunday from 11:40 (Moscow time) on the channel and the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru. On Saturday, the “ Star Race” will take place in Luzhniki.
