Belarusian biathlete Anton Smolski told he had been impressed by the three-time Olympic medalist’s form Edward Latypov to the Spartakiad of the Strongest, whose biathlon starts take place in Zlatoust.
Latypov won the pursuit race on Sunday and on Saturday he finished first in the sprint. Belarusian Smolsky took 16th place in the sprint and 10th in the pursuit.
– We work, we give our all. We see that the opponent is at the top of his form, which is very cool. I would like to mention Latypov, who shows phenomenal speed. What he did during the preparatory weeks is a mystery to me. Maybe I’ll ask him. His remote work is impressive.
— Are your skis okay?
“I wouldn’t say anything is wrong.” Maybe the Russian team came up with something more interesting than ours. I would note the weather which has changed enormously in two days. Before the competition it was very comfortable here, we trained and did a good job. But suddenly after zero the temperature became -20, and it is difficult to get used to the cold,” Smolsky told .
The women’s pursuit will take place later on Sunday. Watch live broadcast of the race from 11:35 (Moscow time) on TV channels “”, “Match! Arena” and “Match! Planet”, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
