Russian biathletes have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) since 2022.

— For the third season, Russia has not participated in international competitions. By the way, have you thought about leaving biathlon?

— There was no idea of ​​finishing, because the motivation is still there, and I hope it won’t stop for a long time. There is still hope that in the future we will be allowed in; I want to run there and feel what it looks like, what it really is like.

— Are the 2026 Olympic Games your goal?

— Probably, a year or two ago, I was aiming for 2026. Now too. Age-wise, it’s normal, I’ll be 25. If everything goes well, it would be great to play there.

In the 2023/24 season, Usov won the Commonwealth Cup sprint in Murmansk and, together with Natalya Gerbulova, Anastasia Egorova and Eduard Latypov, won bronze in the mixed relay.
