Shipulin spoke about work aimed at protecting the material and social rights of athletes

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Physical Culture and Sports Anton Shipulin spoke about the tasks of the working group “Supporting Russian athletes in modern conditions”.

— A set of measures is being developed to support national sport and create maximum conditions for the protection of the material and social rights of Russian athletes, coaches and teachers.

Changes have been made to the unified calendar plan for sporting events.

The Federal Law on Education in the Russian Federation has been finalized and amended.

It is planned to improve the system and procedure for awarding sports titles MSMK, ZMS and ZT, – quotes the words of Shipulin Telegram channel of the State Duma Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.

In February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that sports federations not allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in international tournaments. Later, the recommendations were relaxed and in December 2023, IOC head Thomas Bach said that the organization would allow Russian and Belarusian athletes who passed the selection process for the 2024 Summer Games in a neutral status individual. Athletes could perform in Paris without a flag, anthem or other national symbol. A total of 15 Russian athletes took part in the Paris Olympics.
