Bilosyuk: Will I continue to compete? As God willing

Elena continues to recover from injury

Famous Ukrainian biathlete Elena Bilosyuk (before marriage – Pidhrushnaya) spoke about her recovery from a knee injury and potential retirement.

“The process of rehabilitation after a knee injury is still ongoing. I received it during training. The situation is gradually improving. But, as doctors told me, this process should take 9-12 months.”

“Will I continue to compete? As God willing. I think it’s time for young Ukrainian biathletes to take over and demonstrate similar results at international competitions. I’m looking forward to it! “

“I train to the best of my ability. I am also an active military personnel. I have a constant long-term hobby – embroidery. During the war, she also began to paint by numbers. In this matter you need to think less.”

Let us remind you that 36-year-old Bilosyuk, together with four young partners, was named to the Ukrainian national team for the first stage of the IBU Cup, which will take place on November 30 in Kontiolahti, Finland.

Earlier, Zots announced a “vector for rejuvenation of the team,” due to which Bilosyuk was not included in the main roster of the Ukrainian national team for the summer Biathlon World Championships in Brezno-Osrbly, Slovakia.

Elena, like Yulia Jima, will not be part of the national team at the first stage of the 2023/24 World Cup in Ostersund, Sweden. At the same time, Yulia, who is recovering from an injury, is preparing to start the second stage in Hochfilzen, Austria.

In 2014, Bilosyuk became an Olympic champion in the relay as part of the Ukrainian national team. In addition, Elena is the 2012 world champion and five-time European champion.
