2014 Olympics bronze medalist biathlete Yevgeny Garanichev spoke about his feelings about not being included in the Russian team for the 2022 Games in Beijing.
Last season, Garanichev took 113th place in the World Cup sprint race in Östersund, Sweden, after which he went on to the IBU Cup. The athlete lost the competition and missed the main start of the season – the Olympics.
– I didn’t hit my head against the wall, but I was worried. After all, everything was fine in the summer, but with small reservations. And in the end, all the work done was in vain, because at the most crucial moment the body failed. That’s life, that’s sport, that’s a coincidence,” Garanichev told the “Championship”.
