The coach of the Argentine National Team reviewed what is coming in February in the qualifying windows.
These have been busy weeks for Pablo Prigioni, coach of the Argentine basketball team. The former player will be the first technical director in our country to be part of the NBA all-star game; while in our country the light blue and white will face the first FIBA qualifying window for the 2025 Americup. The rival will be Chile, in two performances that will be held in Mar del Plata and Valdivia.
In the midst of this reality, the man from Córdoba spoke to the media “Perros de la Calle” in Urbana Play about the current Argentine basketball, the national team and, obviously, his career in the NBA. Regarding the first, one of the statements that resonated was that “We don’t have a guy who has the potential to go to the NBA“. Currently, many players shine in the best European competitions, but many do not make it to the best league in the world. “Argentine basketball is going through a moment of reconstruction. “There is a nucleus of three or four consolidated players in the Euroleague, then there are a couple who are looking to get into that group, and more of the youngsters who are trying to get into Europe.”
“In the past there were three or four players in the NBA, five or six in the Euroleague, many were grouped together in the first divisions of Europe. Now the panorama is not the same and We strive to find those young people who have the potential to take that first step in Europeand after that someone can leave and show the conditions to play in the NBA.”

The National Team that will play in the first Americup qualifying window will have 12 players participating in foreign leagues. Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck and Leandro Bolmaro are the Euroleague representatives. Nicolás Brussino, one of the figures in the Eurocup. Marcos Delía and Lucio Redivo are currently competing in the A2 series in Italy. The prisoners, Gonzalo Bressan and Juan Francisco Fernández defend the colors of their teams in Leb Oro and Liga Endesa, respectively. Juani Marcos (Girona, Liga Endesa), Lucas Giovanetti and Gonzalo Corbalán (Leb Oro) and Juan Bocca (Liga EBA/ACB) will join this group.
