NBA star, who had good spells with teams like the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers, Blake Griffin retires after leaving basketball

The star of NBA Blake Griffin announced his retirement from basketball, after 14 seasons on the court in the league. This Tuesday, the 16th, the now 35-year-old former player said goodbye to the sport in an emotional way through his social networks. The athlete had already been on a sabbatical year and was wanted by some teams to return to action.

“I’m grateful for every moment. Not just the good ones; the wins, the awards, the dunks and the memorable times I spent with my family, friends, fans, teammates and coaches. I could go on and on about the people in my life who have contributed immensely to my career, but in this short non-letter, I must thank my parents, Tommy and Gail, and my brother, Taylor, for their unconditional support and guidance. I’m equally grateful for the not-so-good times. The losses, the injuries, the many surgeries, the lessons, the sadness, and it wouldn’t be a sports retirement letter without acknowledging the ‘haters’. All of these experiences have made my 14 years in the league truly unforgettable and I can’t help but feel grateful.”Griffin wrote.
