Six clubs have confirmed their participation in the new basketball season. Superleague during an online meeting. Four more teams asked to use a regulated pause to make a decision until September 1.

Five representatives of the Superleague last season confirmed their participation: Prometheus, Budivelnik, Kyiv Basket, Zaporozhye and Cherkasy Mavpy. Also ready to play in the elite division Old Lutsk. The Luchans finished last season in first place in the Premier League, and, according to the sports principle, they had the right to move up in the class.

Dnepr, Kharkiv Sokoly, Khimik and Kryvbas asked to postpone the final decision. The meeting was also attended by representatives of BC Rivne, who are considering promotion together with Staryi Lutsk.

Earlier, FBU President Mikhail Brodsky revealed the details of the new national championship. According to him, the federation plans to use the bubble format that was used during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2021-22 season in the Super League was stopped due to a full-scale Russian invasion in February at the regular season stage. The winners at the end of the season were not awarded.

FBU Secretary General Volodymyr Drabikovsky said that the new basketball season in Ukraine could start in October in an unusual format.
