Former Fenerbahçe Turkish basketball player Asim Pars has died at the age of 49, the club’s press service reports.
“We express our condolences to the fans and the entire basketball community,” the message read.
As the media noted, the ex-player died in his family home in Kalesia (Bosnia and Herzegovina), further details were not provided.
Pars played for several Turkish clubs, including Fenerbachhe, Galatasaray, Karsiyaka, Efes Pilsen (now Anadolu Efes), and in Russia he played for Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv-Rostov. As a member of the Turkish national team, he won silver at the 2001 European Championship.
