Former undisputed heavyweight champion advises Brit to land more punches
Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield advised the ex-world champion Briton Anthony Joshua in combat, make full use of their own dimensions.
“Anthony Joshua is a good fighter, but if you don’t throw enough punches, you don’t use size to your advantage. He’s a big guy, he should use the jab.”
“Everyone knew that Adonis Stevenson had a great jab. Every time he caught you with it, you got lost, followed by a right hand, and you were out of the game.
Anthony Joshua can do pretty much the same thing, he’s big, big and a good fighter. He can really box, but he has to be a little more aggressive, you have to use his size to your advantage.”
In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The defeat was the second in a row for the Briton – in September 2021, he lost his titles to the Ukrainian by unanimous decision.
Joshua wants to enter the ring in his next fight with Dillian Whyte. Anthony is also planning a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who said he was ready to fight Joshua for free.
