Conor McGregor opened up about his future in the UFC and took advantage of the moment to give Francis Ngannou a light jab; see details
Conor McGregor opened up about his future in UFC and still gave a pin in Francis Ngannou. “The Notorious” gave an interview to “MMA Hour” and spoke about the possibility of leaving Ultimate Fighting. However, the MMA legend warned that he will not do that and that he loves the company. Therefore, he took the opportunity to criticize the former heavyweight champions of the franchise.
“What? Go out and do a little side quest, and try to get some boxing bucks? No, for me UFC is the pinnacle and it’s the company I love. I want to be with this company for the rest of my career. I hope we can continue. I want to be in the UFC. I hope they feel the same too. He has given me so much and helped me in many situations in my life. The UFC is my company“, began the fighter about his desire to stay on Ultimate.
With that answer, it was inevitable that the interview would not go into the topic of Francis Ngannou. Conor McGregor made it clear that the former heavyweight champion’s decision was not the best. He has been targeted by many former fighters and Jon Jones regarding his choice to leave Ultimate Fighting. With “The Notorious” it was no different and he also showed some irritation with the choice of the Cameroonian to leave MMA.
“Think of all he accomplished. He had his injury, he was in that PI using all the equipment, everything, there was no money in it. There would be no charge for this. He was using the accommodation and sorting everything out. I thought he made a mistake, to be honest. I wasn’t sure why he did it. He kind of took the shine off him but I wish him all the best“, he completed.
It’s worth remembering that Mcgregor hasn’t entered the octagons since July 2021. At the opportunity, he measured forces with Poirier, but he didn’t get along and lost. “The Notorious” is one of the greats of Ultimate and hopes to return to combat as soon as possible. But, while not fighting, he continues with his controversial statements about his rivals.
