Athletistic/ Boxing. Former unified world lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) American Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs), who today June 11 beat the former absolute champion of the category at the above Briton Josh Taylor, announced his retirement.
“What a relief! Gone to the top. Thank you boxing for the amazing life it has given me and my loved ones. Twice the best,” Lopez wrote on social media.
Teofimo Lopez is 25 years old. The American made his professional ring debut in 2016.
On June 11, 2023, Lopez became the world champion in two weight classes, winning the WBO welterweight title (up to 63.5 kg) from Taylor.
