Joshua: Everything points to Wilder being next opponent

Briton’s team is working to close a deal with Deontay’s representatives

Former world champion Anthony Joshua stated that his team is in talks to finalize a deal with another former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

“Looks like he will be my next opponent. I am very happy that perhaps our fight will take place soon.”

“It’s great for boxing. In the future, we will look back on these years and think, “Wow, look at that era, this guy fought everyone.” That’s what’s important these days, not defending your zero or worrying about anything. It’s not easy to organize these big fights, but I trust my team.”

Earlier it was reported that representatives of Saudi Arabia arrived in London to finalize the deal for the fight of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder for January 2024. Promoter Eddie Hearn said all parties are committed to a deal for the fight.

Joshua knocked out Robert Helenius in the last fight, which took place on August 12 in London. The Briton won his second consecutive victory after losing the belts in a duel with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
