The Russian judo team will participate in the junior world championship, which will take place in Odivelas, Portugal, reports the press service of the Russian Judo Federation (RADI).
The Russians will participate in the tournament as neutral athletes. The national team at the championship will be represented by Timur Arbuzov (81 kg), Anzhey Pavlyukov (100 kg), Denis Batchaev, Dmitry Yakushev (both over 100 kg), Kristina Dudina (48 kg), Karina Efimova (52 kg) and Victoria Karsanova (70 kg).
“Approximately six hundred young athletes from more than seventy countries will participate in the competition – they will compete for awards of fourteen sets in the categories of an individual tournament and one in a mixed team competition. The national team, which has a successful tradition in this age group, will be represented in Portugal by four judokas and three female judokas, who will behave as neutral individual athletes, the statement said.
The tournament in Portugal will take place from October 4 to 7.
