The former world champion shared his perspective on postponing the fight for the absolute world champion title.
Tyson Fury should not be blamed for another postponement of the fight with Alexander Usik. Former world champion Timothy Bradley thinks so.
In his opinion, the holder of the WBC belt prepared well for the fight, lost weight and had a lot of sparring. Bradl also advised the Briton to rest.
“He’ll be ready. Anyone who thinks Tyson isn’t ready for this fight doesn’t know anything about boxing. This is a world class fight. The dude gets $100 million for the fight. Of course he wants it, he wants to win. We are talking about Fury, you might have forgotten who he is, especially after the fight with Ngannou. When he disappointed everyone so much. So he will definitely prepare Usyk.
Despite all the confusing moments in the sparring video, Fury is in good shape. There he looked like a thinner man. Someone thinks all his photos are photoshopped. But he is getting ready. I did a lot of sparring. And now he had to stop the camp and give everyone a chance to rest. It is only a matter of time before peak form is reached.
If I were Fury, I’d take weeks now. 2-3 weeks to relax and enjoy. Because every boxer needs a phase of getting in shape and then rest. It’s like at school – kids study for a few hours, and then they have to rest and play. So we have to give the boxers a chance to rest, because then there will be 3 months of work in the gym. And you need to understand when to be in peak form. So Fury will be fine,” Bradley told ProBox TV.
We remind you that the Usyk-Fury fight, scheduled for February 17, has been postponed to May 18. The fight will take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Earlier, Usyk showed how he continues to train, preparing his body for punches from Fury to the stomach.
