American heavyweight Michael Hunter did not see Tyson Fury as a worthy opponent for the Ukrainian.

Oleksandr Usik’s victory over Tyson Fury was predictable and happened exactly as planned. This is what the famous American heavyweight Michael Hunter said.

Commenting on the outcome of the fight for the absolute championship, Usik’s former opponent said that the fight went according to his expectations.

Tyson Fury was unable to fight the Ukrainian in the ring, and his mind games and tricks had no effect on the Ukrainian.

“Fury has a strong mental ability, he does a lot of traps, tricks and gypsy things. That didn’t work tonight. When you fight someone of that high level, things change a bit .You don’t get to play those games very often.

I thought Usyk would lose the first half of the fight, but then he would go on and win the whole fight. I knew he had to win a few rounds in the first half of the fight. I knew he won the second half in the best possible way and that’s how it happened.

Usyk is performing at a high level, while Tyson Fury hasn’t been at his best for years. He’s been knocked down seven times in his career to Usyk’s never, and he’s won them all as a rookie and cruiserweight. I just know that competition at this level and mental toughness will help him pull through,” Ring News 24 quoted Hunter as saying.

Remember that Michael Hunter lost to Oleksandr Usyk in 2017. But the defeat is still one of the American’s professional ring career.

Let’s remember that Usik’s victory over Fury brought him the absolute heavyweight championship. The fight went all 12 rounds. Usyk won by split decision – 115:112, 114:112, 113:114.

It was previously reported that Usik was suspended from boxing after the fight with Fury.
